On the Road

The weather is not that great in Italy right now. Maybe things will get better, but the forecast is not looking so promising. Well all we can do is hope for the best. Definitely missing the Florida sunshine.

Well, I am successfully moving out to California for the summer, I am over the top excited about this and have pretty much packed all my things already. Ready for endless surfing, volleyball, tennis and anything else imaginable. I move out there June 1st with a pit stop in Arkansas, with those calculations I should be at my place the evening of the 3rd. Gidgett will be joining me as well. Cali = Sun= Fun.

I arrived in Italy yesterday. Today was my first day of training on the course. Super fun in this area. Bathrooms are a little small but good thing we don't hang out in the rooms a lot. I found out this year that I am missing the US Open. That is a bummer because it is in my own back yard (Stratton). Hopefully all my friends have a good time and kill it in the pipe and the slope course!!!!! I will be back home at the end of March, after stopping at one more place (Spain). Then it is off to CO and maybe AK, that would make my YEAR!!!!

Almost Turkey Time
Thursday, November 5, 2009, 08:01 AM
So, I have been training non stop and having so much fun with my friends from back home. I also finished my one hundred and one hats that I made for HAT 4 HOUNDS. (A charity that I started in March, where all the money goes to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals <ASPCA>). So I was excited that I made my quota and now I am just focusing on selling them. I only have twenty five more, and my goal is to sell them all off by Christmas.
In my spare time I have been going on long bike rides and playing tennis. I have also been teaching Gidget (my dog) to run with me while I ride my bike, this way I can take her on another fun adventure. HA HA.
Snow is falling out West and that means that it is only a matter of time until I will return to the slopes once again.
Thats all for now,
Lindsey J

End of May
Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 11:54 PM
So I am in CT for the summer now. I have put the Green Monster (my brother's and my malibu boat) in the lake and had a couple of great weekends outdoors with the friends. Coming up next month is a training camp, a wedding in Costa Rica and then coaching out at Windell's Snowboard Camp. Super excited to go to Costa Rica, and to spend that time with friends...priceless. So until then I will be training at the gym. All for now.

End of May

So I have been home in CT for a couple of months and really loving the warm spring weather. Sure on the East Coast we get rain from time to time but when it is sunny it is gorgeous. So my brother and I just put our boat (the green monster) in the the lake three weeks ago and have enjoyed outside adventures with our friends. All I am doing right now is working out at the gym everyday, but next month the real activities start up. I am going to a training camp, then to a wedding in Costa Rica, then a coaching job at Windell's camp in Mt Hood. All for now.

Home for a couple days
Saturday, February 21, 2009, 05:01 PM
After the race in Stonehem, Quebec I decided to drive down to my parents place to get some home cooked meals and some good rest. I took some runs with my brother and cousin on Saturday at Stratton, then had a great movie session. I plan to drive to Sunday River, Maine for my next competition. It has been an eventful month and I am really happy with the way that I have been riding all of the courses.

I just arrived in Aspen yesterday. I have one day to hang out and ride with my dad and then practice starts on Wednesday. From what I hear the course is really cool and has an option, meaning there is more than one way to go. Time trials start on Friday and the race is Saturday during the day. Please be aware that we are on MOUNTAIN TIME so plan accordingly. Hope everyone had a great new year. Wish me luck.

On the 7th my plan is to go to Telluride and ride with the boardercross team until the 15th. Then I will be off to my next competition in Aurosa, Switzerland. Hope everyone has a happy holiday!

This last month I went to two Ski Balls, one in New York City and the other in Boston. They both had live autions and entertainment that lasted late into the night. All the athletes get first class treatment as we enjoy the food, company and the streets of New York City. Boston was nice to go to because I have a lot of friends, including my best friend, living there and on a travel schedule as busy as my own it is nice to be able to get together with the gang for the a couple of days. I am getting ready to move back up to VT because the snow is starting to fall and the mountain will soon be open. On Dec. 1 I will be traveling to Colorado were there will be a team camp and then off to Europe for a World Cup event. Thats all for now have a happy turkey day!!!

End of October
Saturday, October 18, 2008, 02:24 PM
Last Thursday I went to New York City, where I attended the ASPCA (America Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) charity event. It was at the IAG Building that was all glass, it was very fun and I got to meet a couple of rescue dogs. These dogs were the hit of the party, they also had wonderful personalities that made them irresistible to everyone. There was a silent auction to help raise money for this non profit organization. This was the first time I was apart of this event and I was very happy see how many young people supported this organization.
On Friday when I got home I also completed my stone wall that I started last summer, it took me a little longer than expected because I broke my wrist this spring but I am happy to report that I have finished it. Feels good!

So the leaves are changing and starting to drop fast, I am continuously working out and trying to finish my stone wall before it gets too cold for my fingers to handle it. Next week I am going into NYC where I will be attending a charity event (ASPCA - American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). This will be my first time attending this event and I am very excited. I love hanging out in NYC, it is a big change from the country life that I have in little Roxbury, CT.

First One Down
Wednesday, October 8, 2008, 01:03 PM
I just returned from Argentina. I stayed in a town called San Martin de las Andes. The first day the US team went free riding, we shredded 9 feet of fresh powder, it was not on the light side but still a blast. The US team went down there for two weeks and the last weekend there was the first World Cup event of the year. The course was long and had big jumps. I am glad to say that I won the race and felt very strong with my riding. I also raced on my new boards made by KESSLER, they were flawless. I had so much fun training on the course and enjoying the spring time riding. The town was really cute and one street that had a bunch of tourist shops that were stocked with fairies and trolls, they believed that these creatures lived and protected the wood all around them. So I brought home some souvenirs for my family and friends. All around I had a lot of fun and was a great camp.

Day In The City
Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 12:37 PM
Last Monday I went to New York City, where I set up a meeting with VITA COCO. For those who don't know, VITA COCO is a coconut water drink that is loaded with potassium, has no fat, filled with vitamin C, and has a great taste. It is a natural rehydrant, that has only one ingredient(natural coconut water). That means no additives and especially no high fructose corn syrup. There are several great flavors as well. I love VITA COCO after a workout. After the VITA COCO meeting I went to the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) adoption center, where I got to tour the facility, that was renovated in 2006, and meet the staff. I learned so much about the adoption process as well as meeting some of the animal that were given a second chance by this wonderful organization. It really was a heartwarming experience to see how many different people share the same passion I have for animals. Next summer I plan to sign up to be a volunteer. Anyone who has a love for animals should look into this volunteer program or go online to and see how you can help.
