Foggy Day Below
Thursday, June 30, 2011, 08:35 PM

When you first go up the chair you think that there will be no end to the fog, and you will be riding in this condition all day, but if you have been up in Hood before then you know that most of the time you come out on top and there is beautiful sunshine. Hood in June can be finicky but it definitely has its rewards. I had such a productive trip up there I was extremely happy with myself. Today I moved into my new place (in Cali) for the summer and will be adding pictures soon of all my adventures so don't be a stranger.

Weather can move in and out fast up in Hood, and with a view like this, can quickly remind you how small we are in this world. To keep everything this beautiful in this world, be sure to do you part, start small and try to pick on thing to make a difference.

Hood Follow Up
Friday, June 24, 2011, 01:49 PM

This was a hike that we went on, down the Salmon River trail. Everything looks so old and prehistoric. The trees are so lush and huge, it feel like you are in another time. Gidgett was not afraid to follow me over any log there was even if it went over the river.

Trip to MT. HOOD
Wednesday, June 22, 2011, 10:18 PM

Went to Mt. Hood for the Last 3 weeks. This is now my 12th year going to Mt. Hood and Windell's and I love every minute of it. I went on hikes, down to Hood River, worked on my condo and of course got on the slopes. The crew consisted of Jesse Heilman (pictured), Chris Mahaney, and Brooke Shaw. We had a great time chillin by the pool, eating volcano cone and enjoying the scenes. There was more snow on the mountain this summer than I have ever seen this time of year. Hood, miss you already. Check back soon and you will see a collection of pictures that were taken on the trip.

Our Memorial Day consisted of going to Big Bear to do a Tough Mudder race. As you well know I am a really competitive person as well as my two friends with me , Rob and Amie. Rob is my fitness coach for the summer time, and this seemed like the perfect thing to for Amie and I to rope him into doing. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. It was a ten mile race up and down Snow Valley several times, and doing things like crawling in mud under barbed wire and hauling logs up and down a mile. To wrap up the race we had to run through a electrical field that would shock you so hard it hurts your teeth and makes your hearth feel like it jumped directly out of you chest. I love you so much MOM. Thank you so much for everything that you have done for me in my life. You are my mental rock and I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for YOU and DAD. Miss you so much when I travel, but I am always thinking of you.

Museum of Death
Friday, April 29, 2011, 12:51 AM

In this picture>>>Kathy, Jesse and me
Last trip up to LA, I went to visit the Museum of Death on Hollywood BLVD. It opens up a new perspective to the meaning of life. The museum had such great history of famous deaths, murders, serial killers, embalming procedures and funeral details, the list goes on. It was run by the most energetic and enthusiastic couple (JD and Kathy) I had ever met. They instantly made me feel welcome and gave me a tour of their museum.

Today I got to sleep in...that was nice since I have been going non stop ever since I got to Cali. It was a beautiful day so we decided to take a stroll on the beach and pick up trash. We did that for about two hours and enjoyed the sun and company. You would not believe the kinds of thing that we found. We collected a ton of trash in a mile and a half strip. So please remember to throw away your trash and don't be a litter bug.

Long Beach Grand Prix
Monday, April 18, 2011, 12:01 AM

This was the first time I have ever gone to an indy car race. I went to the Long Beach Grand Prix to see my friend race with Jesse. We had the best time cruising through the whole event. There was so much to see. We got to go in the pit before they started the race and check out the cars up close, I could of hoped in one if I wanted. There was also the paddock where all the trailers were lined up for every racer. So many things to choose from, vendors, food, drinks and clothing of your favorite racer. Thank you so much for the tickets James!!!! After the race James let me get in his car to see what it felt like. The car is custom molded to your body to ensure a safe and comfortable fit. My hips were having a hard time fitting into his seat, ha.
It was also great that the crew from the east coast Mackenzie, Cesira and Tyler were able to join.

Cali Sunset Cruise
Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 12:26 AM

Weather is warming up and do you know what that means????? That means I am in Cali surfing and doing every other activity I can think of. Pedaling through town is my favorite way to get around. There is so much to do, there are fairs and stores to snoop in and when you add friends to a sunset mission it just ties the day together so nicely.

It would be really sweet if you could pull me into TOWN!!!
Sunday, April 10, 2011, 08:19 PM

This weekend there was a fair in downtown Encinitas. Amie and I wanted to stroll downtown but in style. Lots of great crafts, home furnishings, jewelry, and food. The weather was amazing, we could not have asked for a better day.

I decided to switch things up and take out my new skis that Kessler gave me. What do you know, they feel as great as a Kessler board. I brought these back home with me when I was over in Switzerland at the Kessler factory. The skis felt so great, had a awesome shape and a sleek black look that caught everyones' eye.

My brother, Ben and my lake friend, Mark were also along for the ride...What we learned today was if some asks are you with Pedigree? You say YES.

For April 3, it was quite the amazing weekend, we had 8 inches of fresh snow yesterday and then the weather stayed cool to maintain the snow's freshness. There was no wet precipitation in the program. The sun was out all day as were we. There are roomers going around Stratton that they might stay open an extra weekend since they have had such a good snow year. We will know in a few days what the call will be on that, so stay tuned.

I had to take apart the rodel and pack it in my board bag to bring it home from Switzerland. In Europe they use the metric system, so the search for the proper size tools can be tricky. With help from THE THRILL (Will) we were able to put together to legendary rodel. I cannot wait to test it out on the slopes of Stratton.

I was so excited to come home because Tangled was out on DVD. I am absolutely in LOVE with Disney, and I am a firm believer that you are never to old for it. On my drive to VT today it was a total role reversal. My mom had been working all day, so we drove up together and I said I would drive. So my mom posted up in the back seat with the dogs and she watched Tangled. I thought that was really funny to look back at....great work Disney!!!
So I will be in VT for the next couple of days, weather is looking promising and there is snow in the forecast. Wondering what I will do tomorrow, either go up on the mountain or take a day to chill out with my mom and have a girls day.

Gruss aus Braunwald, Kessler Factory
Thursday, March 31, 2011, 07:38 AM

Since I was in Switzerland I figured I should check out who has been making my boards for the last three years. This town is a little different than you ordinary Swiss Village. This requires you to take a 5 minute train up to the village, where there are no cars, they do however have three horses to get around. This was the simplest way of life I have every witnessed in Europe. The factory is in a logging mill and is so charming. I really want to see this town when it is completely covered in snow. See the related link below.

This was the house of Anna Goldi in Mollis, who was accused of being a witch, and was later beheaded and burned and the stake. Just recently Switzerland is pardoning her....a little late but check out her story. It is a classic, she has an affair with a high up man in the village and his way of dealing with it is to call her a witch, and get her out of his hair. She was then taken to Glarus to be executed in a barbaric way. Press the related link right at the bottom.

Yesterday CHUR and today RAPPERSWIL
Sunday, March 27, 2011, 06:41 AM

After a rough ride down in the car, and getting a little sick I was able to rally and race for the GOLD. The carts go a little faster in Switzerland and the rules...well...they are not as strict.

Little stroll around Rapperswil today. More Castles.

Just finished the competitive season, last stop was in Arosa, Switzerland. I finished 7th in the first race and 2nd in the next one. This made me 3rd overall in the World Cup standings. Now I will be staying in Switzerland a couple more days to go to the Kessler factory and work on new shapes for my race decks.

Italy to Switzerland
Monday, March 21, 2011, 11:13 AM

This was the route that we went, normally we would take the highway, but we wanted to take in the beautiful scenery. This drive was about 4 hours.

This was a road in the valley were all you could see around you was mountains (you think this road every closes due to avalanche, ha ha). There were a lot of people that would park and hike up to get fresh powder runs, only thing that was odd was people never really strayed too far from another person's line, almost like they wanted to do all that work for a tracked out run?????

This was an epic view the entire way. There were a lot of switchback turns to climb up the mountain, but that is to be expected.
