Visiter from the East Coast
Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 08:49 PM

My brother came out for a long weekend to visit me. We surfed multiple times a day starting from the exact moment that I picked him up from the airport. Great BBQ with friends and neighbors on Friday night followed by going to the local bar to listen to a reggae band. We had such a great time and chilled on the beach. It rounded out to be a pretty productive weekend. :) Benny and I are pictured above at our cousin, JB + Anna's wedding.

I have been a supporter of Breast Cancer research for a few years now. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer but thanks to early detection she was able to defeat it. She has check ups every year now and there hasn't been any signs that it has come back. I still hold my breath when she gets checked out and so far so good. Knowing that early detection was the key, I urge all women to get check out. Next week I plan to make a cast of my boobs and the cast will be painted by an artist. The finished product will then be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to Breast Cancer research. Check back soon!!!! Click the related link below to see how you can help.

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 06:29 PM

The US Team has now partnered with Tiffany and CO. They will be making the Gold passes that are up for sale and will give you access to any mountain for your pleasure wherever you are in the Unites States. The unveiling took place in NYC at 9 am at Tiffany's. We had a great breakfast and greeted Tiffany & CO. in partnering with the US Team. Afterwards we all got to look around. Tiffany designed some jewelry with US Team logos that will help benefit the athletes that are pursuing their dreams. I got to put on a little necklace, I will never forget the feeling......

Bed No. 2 for ERIC bed
Tuesday, September 6, 2011, 11:55 AM

The plans. Theses plans were made on adobe illustrator with little effort. I got all the measurements that are required for a full size bed, then proceeded to put my own flare on the design. It was a similar design to the bed he made me before, but this is going to be a day bed/couch for the living room. Amie and I thought it would be a more functional piece of furniture for guests when they come to visit.

Cutting materials. After buying the materials, it is time to cut everything to size and weld it all together. This is were Eric comes in, and I am just a project manager. HA

Putting them together. Watching the bed take form is incredible. My friend is so talented with metal and he doesn't even try. I am going over to his house later and see where he is in the process and will have some more pictures soon.

A+J Wedding
Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 01:26 PM

I went home for a week to visit family and friends and to also go to my cousin JB's wedding. The wedding was in Newport, RI. I was an evening affair were hats were very in. HA It was great to catch up with the family since we are all grown up and going our own ways in life now. The cousin in both pictures is Gabrielle, she will be returning to Boston U this fall. Our shoes were our favorite part of our outfits, of course. By Poetic License.

In August there was a race that was held on Neptune Ave. in Encinitas. The race takes place on a tandem bike (our bike was provided by JONES SODA CO.) The race is about 5 miles long trough the town of Encinitas and it takes about 20 minutes, the only catch is that it is a bar crawl. So there were eight stops where you had to a shot or drink a beer. I don't know when you last drank beer as fast as you could then ran, but it is hard. Amie Thomas was my partner and we were returning champs from last year for the women. We were the Jones Clean Up Crew. Little play on word while being a little competitive as well. HA. There were great costumes and good people.

Paddle Board
Thursday, August 4, 2011, 08:19 PM

Yesterday I went paddle boarding with the crew and of course Gidget. She is a little trooper and enjoyed jumping from one board to the next when she is out on the water with us. Didn't think that she would be that into doing these sorts of activities but she was right along with us as we enjoyed the sunset.

Custom Bed by Eric Sheetz
Wednesday, August 3, 2011, 01:15 PM

So I have this very creative and talented friend that can make cars from scratch, is a killer mechanic, surfer, and insurance salesmen. He is what you would call a Jack of All trades. I asked him to make me a bed for my room in Cali that would have a coastal flare with my own touch. So he had me draw something up and came back to him with my specs. He finished with a product of the highest quality that can be taken apart for easy transport (since I move around a lot) and the feminine flare that I was craving. The bed had a mermaid, seahorses, shells, turtles, and starfish. The best part is that there is not one like it anywhere in the world, I have an Eric Sheetz Original. If you are interested in beds, chairs, tables, hooks, or anything contact him through Facebook and you could have one of his pieces too.

Day At The Races.....Thanks Craig Dado
Sunday, July 24, 2011, 05:27 PM

Opening Saturday was yesterday and me and a group of my friends got to go to the TURF club. The turf club is the nicest section of the race track with the best layout and dinning experience. I was presenting an award and flowers to the owners of the horse that won race 5. We got to hang out in the winners circle for a good 30 mins and had the best seats in the house. It was such a great experience and I cannot wait to go to the track again.

Petree's Progress
Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 09:18 PM

It has now been 5 days since we found Petree, and he is getting stronger every day. Every time Jesse, Amie or I peer over that nest he is reaching up and opening his mouth as wide as it can go. More of his fluffy feathers are coming in and is chirping up a storm. We feed him every 15/30 minutes a day right now but that will change when he gets older.

Baby Bird
Monday, July 4, 2011, 02:09 PM

The second day that we were in our new place we found a baby bird. The nest was no where to be found and we were unsure what to do. We moved him to the open grass and within minutes the parents found him and were feeding him. They tried to make the pickup but the baby was a little too big for them to handle, so they tried to stash him in a crack for the night. We knew that the sprinklers we going to come on soon and we did not want the baby to freeze and drown, so we made a nest and brought the baby inside. After he made it though the night we named him Petree. We have been feeding him small amounts of wet dog food. It is the coolest thing to feed a baby bird, I have never done anything like this before, but we had the help of Jesse and his mother to guide us on what to do. I will keep you posted on Petree's progress.

Sun is Shinning

Jesse and I on the Palmer Chair lift. Taught him how to ride this past New Years and he is a natural. Being from Dayton Beach, FL. I thought that Hood would be the best combo for his with the sun, warmth and snow.

Foggy Day Below
Thursday, June 30, 2011, 08:35 PM

When you first go up the chair you think that there will be no end to the fog, and you will be riding in this condition all day, but if you have been up in Hood before then you know that most of the time you come out on top and there is beautiful sunshine. Hood in June can be finicky but it definitely has its rewards. I had such a productive trip up there I was extremely happy with myself. Today I moved into my new place (in Cali) for the summer and will be adding pictures soon of all my adventures so don't be a stranger.

Weather can move in and out fast up in Hood, and with a view like this, can quickly remind you how small we are in this world. To keep everything this beautiful in this world, be sure to do you part, start small and try to pick on thing to make a difference.

Hood Follow Up
Friday, June 24, 2011, 01:49 PM

This was a hike that we went on, down the Salmon River trail. Everything looks so old and prehistoric. The trees are so lush and huge, it feel like you are in another time. Gidgett was not afraid to follow me over any log there was even if it went over the river.

Trip to MT. HOOD
Wednesday, June 22, 2011, 10:18 PM

Went to Mt. Hood for the Last 3 weeks. This is now my 12th year going to Mt. Hood and Windell's and I love every minute of it. I went on hikes, down to Hood River, worked on my condo and of course got on the slopes. The crew consisted of Jesse Heilman (pictured), Chris Mahaney, and Brooke Shaw. We had a great time chillin by the pool, eating volcano cone and enjoying the scenes. There was more snow on the mountain this summer than I have ever seen this time of year. Hood, miss you already. Check back soon and you will see a collection of pictures that were taken on the trip.

Our Memorial Day consisted of going to Big Bear to do a Tough Mudder race. As you well know I am a really competitive person as well as my two friends with me , Rob and Amie. Rob is my fitness coach for the summer time, and this seemed like the perfect thing to for Amie and I to rope him into doing. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. It was a ten mile race up and down Snow Valley several times, and doing things like crawling in mud under barbed wire and hauling logs up and down a mile. To wrap up the race we had to run through a electrical field that would shock you so hard it hurts your teeth and makes your hearth feel like it jumped directly out of you chest. Check out the related link below.

Museum of Death
Friday, April 29, 2011, 12:51 AM

In this picture>>>Kathy, Jesse and me
Last trip up to LA, I went to visit the Museum of Death on Hollywood BLVD. It opens up a new perspective to the meaning of life. The museum had such great history of famous deaths, murders, serial killers, embalming procedures and funeral details, the list goes on. It was run by the most energetic and enthusiastic couple (JD and Kathy) I had ever met. They instantly made me feel welcome and gave me a tour of their museum.

Today I got to sleep in...that was nice since I have been going non stop ever since I got to Cali. It was a beautiful day so we decided to take a stroll on the beach and pick up trash. We did that for about two hours and enjoyed the sun and company. You would not believe the kinds of thing that we found. We collected a ton of trash in a mile and a half strip. So please remember to throw away your trash and don't be a litter bug.
